Camp Description:
Since 1907, Camp Algonquin has been located on the Fox River in Algonquin, Illinois. Camp Algonquin's mission is to inspire, educate and strengthen individuals, families and groups toward growth, achievement, and positive community through educational,experiential and recreational opportunities. The summer residential program serves economically disadvantaged youth, mothers and children and senior adults from the Chicagoland area. The program is designed to foster self-esteem, enhance respect for diversity,increase environmental stewardship, build new skills, develop social skills and leadership, promote a sense of positive community and transfer learning to daily life. Camp Algonquin is a program of Metropolitan Family Services.
