Camp Description:
Deer Crossing Camp is an exciting wilderness living experience for young people, 9-17. It is located in California's High Sierra on the shores of a beautiful azure blue mountain lake in the Crystal Basin Recreation Area of the El Dorado National Forest. The program is planned around the philosophy that fun and learning are the result of caring, skilled counselors and a dynamic program. Deer Crossing appeals to the young person who enjoys outdoor living (with some basic comforts)and vigorous activities...sailing, windsurfing, backpacking, canoeing, hiking, orienteering, whitewater rafting, rock climbing...as well as less vigorous activities...arts and crafts, weaving, painting, claymodeling, cartooning, guitar, improv theater, fishing, and campfire programs.
