Camp Description:
Held each year in mid June on beautiful Lake Tyler located in East Texas, the Texas Asthma camp for Kids is the oldest, largest asthma camp in the state of Texas. In operation since 1985, TAC is conducted by The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler, supported by the Texas Chest Foundation, and affiliated with the American Lung Association of Texas. The camp is staffed in part by respiratory students from Tyler Junior College and Angelina College who serve as counselors while receiving credit for the clinical experience. Children learn the skills of managing their asthma while realizing that they can run, swim, and have fun - just like kids at traditional camps.
