Camp Description:
Lumsden Beach Camp is a 40-minute drive north of Regina. The camp is situated within the Qu’Appelle Valley along the southwest shore of Last Mountain Lake. Lumsden Beach Camp is part of the Wascana Presbytery of Saskatchewan Conference of the United Church of Canada and is operated by the Lumsden Beach Camp Board. We strive to provide the best possible experience for our campers and are proud to be accredited by the Saskatchewan Camping Association.Our 267 acres of rolling hills and valleys provides for facilitation of a wide range of activities and programs. Our camp facilities include modern bathrooms, lodging for 120 people, a large well equipped dining hall and kitchen, a large recreation hall, an activity building, heated pool, well-equipped playground, baseball diamond, beach volleyball court, archery range, and various outdoor game locations. LBC runs weekly camp programs throughout July and August for children and youth ages 6-16.The camp operates with five full-time paid summer staff (a director, aquatics/ program staff, facility staff, a head cook and an assistant cook) and approximately 15-20 paid counsellors which rotate weeks at camp throughout the summer. The camp operates with a minimum of four on site volunteers each week including a craft leader, spiritual care time (SCT) leader, assistant cook and a program leader. Approximately 350 children and youth attend Lumsden Beach Camp each summer. Lumsden Beach Camps Mission Statement states: Lumsden Beach Camp fosters opportunities for the discovery and nurturing of faith in God through Jesus, and relationships with each other in a safe and accepting Christian Community.
