Camp Description:
Camp Deerhorn is considered a medium sized camp with an enrollment of 150 boys at any time during the summer.Deerhorn is unique in the number of sessions available. We provide the option to choose from 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, or nine week sessions. With all of these options available we feel like we can offer a great summer experience for even the busiest of families. Our goal is to provide a family atmosphere in which each boy feels like a part of the Deerhorn family. The boys live in small rustic log cabins called koogees with three to eight other boys and a counselor. Meals are served family style in our lodge. The camp grounds are set on 100 acres of woodlands carved out of the Wisconsin wilderness. Deerhorn is situated on the banks of North Pelican lake which provides ample space for our sailing and skiing fleet of boats. The waterfront is a sand bottom with a gradual slope and the water is warm and inviting. It is ideal for swimming instruction. Our playing fields and courts are surrounded by massive pine and hardwood forests. Activities are taught with an emphasis on fun and improvement. We consider our activities to be lifetime sports. These are activities that each boy can continue to do throughout his life. Basic skills through mastery are taught in accordance with each boys needs. Improvement in social skills are also an integral part of Camp Deerhorn. Making friends and working with people from all over the world allows each boy to grow as an individual.
