Camp Description:
A summer camp tradition for 85 years, Camp Coleman is owned and operated by Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama. Resident (sleep away) programs are for girls age 5 - 17 and you don't have to be a Girl Scout to participate! Resident camp programs varying in length from 2 nights to 2 weeks. We also offer overnight Mom & Me, Father Daughter and Family camp programs. On-site program activities include swimming, hiking, crafts, archery, riflery, sports, games, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, hayrides, fishing, batting cage, and the giant slip 'n slide. Camp Coleman's on-site, CHA Accredited equestrian center offers a progressive, comprehensive, instructional horseback program. Our total horsemanship experience includes English, western, and trail riding; driving instruction (horse & cart); and vaulting (gymnastics on horseback.) Camp Coleman is also home to the finest in adventure program facilities including low ropes, high ropes, indoor climbing walls, established outdoor climbing sites, repelling and rockclimbing. Some resident camp sessions include out-of-camp trips for rockclimbing, river trips, or white water rafting. Small unit groups, caring staff, and user friendly campsite help campers feel welcome and secure.
