Camp Description:
Gilboa is a friendly and caring non-profit camp, at a cool and beautiful woodland site in Southern California. The camp serves children from 9-15, with Leadership Training available for those completing 11th grade. It provides a complete summer camp experience of recreation and informal learning in an Israeli kibbutz-style atmosphere, where Hebrew is introduced into everyday camp life. Together with sports, hiking, arts and crafts, the youth counselors creatively teach the ideals of Habonim Dror, a progressive Labor Zionist youth movement. The emphasis is on sharing, inclusiveness, creativity and responsibility to the community. Shabbat is celebrated with special activities. Our campers return year after year, developing their leadership qualities and a love of Israel. Transport is provided from and to Los Angeles at start and end of most sessions, and from other S.California cities depending on numbers. Flights from Northern California are made in groups, picked up by camp staff at Ontario airport. Contact the Registrar about financial aid and discount opportunities.
