Camp Description:
Ballet Chicago's mission is to develop future career classical dancers for Chicago and the dance world at large through the study and performance of the aesthetic and repertory of George Balanchine, the 20th century's most influential and widely performed choreographer. Integral to and concurrent with its mission, the School of Ballet Chicago's objectives are: to be one of the nation's preeminent classical training institutions, providing exacting training standards to perpetuate the art form's excellence, to provide scholarship training to talented students of all ethnic and economic backgrounds who would not otherwise have the means to pursue quality classical dance training, and to provide quality training for those who may not become career dancers but who will gain the poise, confidence, discipline and fundamental life skills inherent in the study of classical ballet.
