Camp Description:
Clay Hill is in its 30th season of successful horsemanship programs.
We are very proud of all our “graduates” who have enjoyed the in-depth experience of our camps and welcome many of their children back. The Horsemanship Adventure Series is an entirely hands-on, educational camp. Every participant is assigned a horse or pony of his/her own to take care of and learn to ride.
About our horses
The Clay Hill horses and ponies are of impeccable quality and are well-trained and child-oriented at all levels. You may meet our equine friends at local horse shows or with the University of Maryland Equestrian Team who trains at Clay Hill.
For your convenience...
Children may arrive as early as 7:00 a.m. at an additional charge of $10 per week. They may also stay as late as 6:30 p.m. at an additional charge of $10 per week. Children not picked up by 5:00 may be invited to swim in the family pool as a guest with parental permission, but the swimming pool is off-limits during the horse camp curriculum.
Application deadlines
All applications should be submitted on or before April 1, 2003. A 10% discount is offered when attending all 8 or 9 weeks if paid in full in advance by June 1, 2003. A 10% discount may be taken for each additional child in the same family if attending the same session only. Counselors-in-training must attend one session as a camper before they are eligible for the CIT program. Tuition for CIT’s after that time is $50 per week.
