Camp Description:
English or French…Brébeuf is simply the best!

Professional instructors take language learning for teens to a new level. Whether looking to improve your ESL or FSL skills, the summer campus programme at the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in beautiful Montréal is the programme for you. 15 hours of language instruction per week, a bilingual environment combined with fun activities and excursions…it’s a complete immersion programme for students aged 9 – 17 in Canada’s truly bilingual and most vibrant city.

Facilities: Students are accommodated in single and twin residence rooms at the college, they are divided by age and gender. Complete washroom and shower facilities are available on each floor. Programme staff also stay at the residence, ensuring that an adult is available at all times. Meals are eaten in the buffet-style school dining hall. Large, modern classrooms, lounges with email access, and a large gymnasium are just a few of the many features of this beautiful campus.

Language Programme: The educational language programme at Brébeuf is both fun and exciting. International students join Canadian students in a cultural exchange of ideas. Professional language instructors provide a bilingual environment for students coming to learn or improve their French or English. Students indicate choice of either French or English at time of application. Once they arrive, students are given coloured lanyards to ensure that staff communicate with them in their language of choice. There are 15 hours per week of language instruction each week. Students receive in-class instruction, along with weekly language workshops and weekly exams. Placement testing upon arrival ensures that students are in the most-appropriate language level.

Sports and Activities: Students can take advantage of the many sports available on campus during their leisure time including: basketball, foosball & ping-pong, hockey (best to bring own skates if possible), soccer, swimming, tennis (best to bring own raquets if possible), volleyball, water sports in the pool, billiards, art and movies.

Scheduled Excursions: 1 full day excursion, 1 half day excursion and 1 cultural evening per week are included in the programme. Excursions include La Ronde Six Flags Amusement Park, a Montréal city tour and Disco Cruise, and full day trips to Ottawa, Québec City or Mount Tremblant with a Beach Party. Half day excursions include visits to local places of interest in Montréal such as Tam Tams at Mount Royal, the beach, University of Montréal, St. Joseph’s Oratory or Shopping in the "Underground City". Cultural events may include excursions to museums, a Jazz festival, "Just for Laughs" comedy festival or Nuits d'Afrique Festival. Included in the programme package is a metro pass or single-use tickets as required. For local excursions and activities, students will use public transportation including buses or underground metro. For longer excursions outside Montréal, buses or coaches will be used.

Optional Activities: In addition to the included excursions, students may choose to participate in optional excursions at an additional minimal cost. Examples of optionals include: Jet Boating, Acro-Nature Adventure, La Ronde Amusement Park, Summer festivals, Granby Zoo, Waterslides, movies, museums and much more.

Our Staff: The high quality of the language and excursion programme is further augmented by our staff of sensitive, dedicated and professional instructors and counselors. They truly care about each student, and ensure that students receive the attention and care needed to make their stay great.
