Camp Description:
C-MITES, which is headquartered at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, serves academically talented students in grades K-9, their teachers and their parents.C-MITES offers summer and weekend workshops throughout Pennsylvania for academically talented students in grades K-9. These courses are hands-on, mentally stimulating, and highly enjoyable for the students. Recent course offerings include: Robotics, Amusement Park Physics, Solve a Murder Mystery, Informal Geometry, Computer Programming, Food Science, Green Engineering, Structures, the Advertising Edge, and Explorations in Science. Need-based scholarships are available. C-MITES also offers above-level testing throughout Pennsylvania for students in grades 3-6, teacher in-services and training sessions throughout the state, informational sessions at PTA meetings and parent workshops, newsletters, books on gifted education, research findings, and resources for students, parents and educators.
