Camp Description:
Big Cove YMCA Camp is run by the YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth. It was founded in 1889 in Thorburn, Nova Scotia. As the oldest residential camp in Canada it is quality and tradition that has made Big Cove a leader in residential camping in Nova Scotia. Nestled in a secluded cove on Merigomish Harbour, Big Cove YMCA Camp is a paradise of forest, field, ocean, marsh and shoreline. Every year we serve hundreds of boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 17. As a YMCA camp it is our goal to provide these youth with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, enhance their self-esteem and build an appreciation for the natural environment in a safe, respectful community. Please join us in the "experience that lasts a lifetime."
