Camp Description:
Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing has been changing outlooks and developing leaders since 1990. We are not a traditional summer camp; we are an all-outdoor, ACA Accredited, Adventure Program.

Uncrowded beaches, abundant wildlife, camping on the beach counting shooting stars at night, surfing, fishing, and (oh yeah) sea kayaking! If this sounds like an awesome way to spend 14 days then come join us as we paddle the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Surf & Turf is a two week sea kayaking trip on the Outer Banks of NC. During the two weeks, we will not only be sea kayaking, but also fishing, surfing, and learning a bit of coastal ecology. The Outer Banks is home to some world-class surf as well as some of the most spectacular natural scenery the U.S. has to offer.

Surf & Turf is designed to introduce the participants to the coast in a new and fresh way. Most people experience the coast in resorts, hotels, and crowded beaches. Cape Lookout, NC is one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas on the east coast. The Cape is a place where you can be alone on the beach and witness wild horses roaming the pristine beaches, see one of the oldest functional lighthouses in the U.S., and watch sunrises explode over the eastern horizon.

The trip begins at our Base Camp in Virginia as we learn the art of packing our gear into a sea kayak…we then head to the coast where we will launch our boats and paddle away from the hustle and bustle of our every-day lives. We will spend a few days developing our sea kayak skills as we make our way to a famous surf spot where we will have the opportunity to surf and fish. Whether it’s your first day surfing, or if you are a veteran, you will find a wave that suits your skill. After catching a few waves (and dinner) we will paddle on and continue exploring the coastline.

This trip is all about being on the water…If you are a water person who likes to explore this is the trip for you!

Activities: expedition sea kayaking, surf fishing, surfing, environmental education, beach camping, back country cooking, marine navigation, & more.

Additional Locations include: Virginia, West Virginia, Panama, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Vietnam.
