Help on How to Do a Advanced Camp Search
 1. Because it allows you to specify many criteria, a "Advanced" search refines and narrows down the search process. As a result, you quickly and efficiently zero in on the camps of your choice. All required fields are highlighted in red. Please note: The maximum number of camps that a search will return is 1000.
 2. Type: You must specify one or more types of camps that you are seeking.
3 Focus: In most cases, you are looking for either a general camp or a specialty camp. But you can search for both general and specialty camps at the same time. If you do, the search results will be a mix of general and specialty camps, which could prove to be confusing rather than helpful.
 4. Specialization Category: If you checked "Specialty Focus," select the specialty category and the corresponding specialization within each category. If you do not select "Specialization," all choices for the category you selected will be searched. If you checked "Specialty Focus" but did not select either a category or a specialization, these fields will be ignored.
 5. Travel Destinations: Select the region where your travel camp is going. The states covered by US regions are shown by clicking on Region Values link. If you have not selected the Travel camp as the Focus, this field will be ignored.
 6. Location: You may specify the location of a desired camp in four different ways. Currently, we have camps only in the U.S. and Canada. (The exceptions are travel camps that go overseas, but they usually depart from the U.S.)
 7. Special Accommodations: These are special arrangements made by general camps for campers with special needs. Understandably, these camps can accommodate only a limited number of campers with special requirements. If you are looking for a special-needs camp, please select the "Specialty Focus and Specialization" category of "Special Needs" and a corresponding specialization.
 8. Accreditation: Some camps are accredited by associations that establish and ensure certain standards. The acronyms for the accreditation agencies are:

ACA American Camping Assoc. (in the U.S.) or Alberta Camping Assoc. (in Canada) AIC Association of Independent Camps
BCCA British Columbia Camping Association BSA Boys Scouts of America
CANS Camping Association of Nova Scotia CCA Canadian Camping Association
CCI Christian Camps International CHA Certified Horsemanship Association
LIAPSDC Long Island Assoc. of Private Schools and Day Camps MCA Manitoba Camping  Association
MYCA Maine Youth Camping Association NATWC National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps
NCA National Camping Association NECA New England Camping Association
NLCA Newfoundland/Labrador Camping Association NYSCDA New York State Camp Directors Association
OCA Ontario Camping Association PCCCA Presbyterian Church Camp and Conference Associates
QCA Quebec Camping Assoc. RPANB Recreations & Parks Associ- ation of New Brunswick
SCA Saskatchewan Camping Association USTA United States Tennis Association
WAIC Western Association of Independent Camps
 9. Camp Gender: Choose from all boys, all girls, or co-ed.

 10.

Session Start Date: This is the earliest date that you are available for the camp. The search will return only camps that have sessions starting after this date. If you do not specify a date, this field will be ignored.
 11. Session End Date: This is the latest date that you are available for the camp. The search will return only camps that have sessions ending before this date. If you do not specify a date, this field will be ignored.
 12. Maximum Cost: This is the cost of a session at the camp.
 13. Camp Name: You may search for a camp even if you have only part of its name. For example, a search for camps with "New" in their names will find camps like New York Camp, New Image Camp, etc.
 14. Keywords: You also may search by keyword. A keyword can be anything that you are looking for in a camp, such as an activity (tennis, baseball, etc.), a qualification (ACA, CCI, etc.), or a description (leadership, advanced study, etc.). This is a very powerful search method that must be used with care. A general keyword will return a large number of camps, whereas a specific keyword will help you narrow down your choices.
