The Digital Media Academy (DMA) is a nationally-recognized organization offering
hands-on learning experiences in a broad range of digital media technologies. DMA’s programs
cater to K-20 educators, teens, and adult-learners. Founded in 2001 by a group from Stanford
University, DMA is best known for its premier summer programs hosted at prestigious destination
campuses, such as Stanford University and the University of Texas along with locations in South
Carolina and San Diego. In addition to its summer programs, DMA provides on-site training to
schools and companies throughout the year and has recently released a DMA Book Series through
CMP Books.DMA is accredited by Stanford University Continuing Studies and held to the highest standard of excellence. Instructors include nationally-known industry experts, master teachers and award-winning creative professionals. All DMA courses throughout the year are offered for optional Stanford Continuing Studies credit. Summer Programs
Each summer, DMA offers a series of 5-day learning experiences from June to August for K-20 educators, teenagers, and adult-learners, with special programs designed for each unique group. DMA attracts teens and adults from around the world who stay for one or more weeks, immersing themselves in this unique learning environment.
DMA is “The Summer Computer Camp for Teens!” DMA is ideal for teens wanting exposure to the most relevant software used in industry and Hollywood, while gaining hands-on experience under the eye of highly-accomplished professionals. Whether to explore a possible career path, prepare for college, gain practical skills for future employment or just have an incredible time with other creative teens, DMA is unparalleled. Teen-specific program offerings include Computer Game Design, Extreme Sports Video Production, Hollywood Character Animation and much more. Other DMA offerings, such as Digital Storytelling, Video Production, Web Design and DVD Authoring, are open to teens, educators, and adult-learners alike. Summer Programs
DMA’s educator-specific program offerings include standards-based technology integration courses in various subject areas. The goal of DMA’s educator-specific courses is to help teachers improve student achievement while meeting required state and national standards. In these courses, teachers learn ways to integrate digital media into their curriculum, using it as a tool for creativity, innovation, and communication. Special educator discounts are available.
